Last thursday, 22th July, professor Varela, president of the Ortega-Marañon Foundation, offered and extraordinary lecture about the image of Spain abroad, under the title of “In the eyes of others: The image of Spain abroad. The history of an estereotype”. The act took place at Real Colegio Complutense conference room.
The conference and the subsequent audience’s comments and questions to professor Varela, who made an interesting exposition about the different existing cliches about Spain, from Romanticism to nowadays, lasted almost two hours.
After the lecture, which was open, the advanced research group offered a dinner in Real Colegio Complutense’s garden, for all those present at the session.
